SOLUTION:
Yes. Burnished Block is an attractive product and has become very popular. The manufacturers burnish or grind the faces of the block to expose the color of the aggregate that is in the block. The final product is a very smooth surface. Installation of the product is no different than a regular block. Ask your mason to lay the block as clean as possible because the cleaning procedure is a delicate one if your block has a factory sealant applied. Ask your salesperson to determine if a factory sealant was applied.

If a sealant was applied, clean with PROSOCO SureKlean Burnished Custom Masonry Cleaner as per manufacturer's recommendations. Do not use a pressure washer. The factory sealant is usually an acrylic and will blush (turn white) if partially removed.

If the block was not factory sealed, use PROSOCO SureKlean Custom Masonry Cleaner as per manufacturer's recommendations.

After the block has been cleaned and is thoroughly dry, a water repellent or sealant can be applied. If no sheen is desired, apply PROSOCO BlokGuard S/Graffiti Control at approximately 80 sq. ft./gal. If sheen is desired, you must apply an acrylic product such as Lambert Waterban 30.
