| SOLUTION: |
| What you are describing sounds like Lime Run. Lime Run
can develop in many ways but is always caused by moisture. You are probably
getting moisture in the wall above the brick and it is traveling in the
wall cavity until it finds a way out. When reappearing on the exterior
of the wall, the moisture is bringing with it lime which is drying on
the surface of your wall. This is a very tough stain but can be removed
with either Sure Klean Heavy Duty Concrete Cleaner or Sure Klean Custom
Masonry Cleaner by PROSOCO. To stop the stain, seek out the source of moisture and repair the area with mortar replacement, if needed, or apply a water repellant. On brick, we would recommend Weather Seal Siloxane PD by PROSOCO and on block use Custom Masonry Sealer also a PROSOCO product. |
