QUESTION:
I have brownish-red stains on my limestone building. What are these stains and how can I remove them?

SOLUTION:
The stains could be rust. In the pictures above, the red stains are rust coming from the top metal piece. The rust has run down on the limestone.

Our recommendation is to test an area using PROSOCO Limestone Restorer at a dilution rate of 1 part restorer to 4 parts water. If this removes the stains, clean the remainder of the area using a pressure washer at a pressure setting of 1000 lbs. or less.

If paint residue is still present after test, try PROSOCO Fast Acting Stripper. If this removes the stain, clean the remainder of the area using a pressure washer at a pressure setting of 1000 lbs. or less.

Remember to consult the manufacturers recommendations before using any PROSOCO product.

If neither of these solutions work, please contact us with more details at support@ebricksolutions.com.

To minimize future staining and decrease future cleaning time, treat area with PROSOCO Weather Seal Natural Stone Treatment. Coverage rates vary, consult manufacturer recommendations.
